Diddy’s lawyer reveals the ‘roughest part’ of the rap mogul’s life in jail and it’s not what you’d expect

Diddy has been in police custody since September 16 and his lawyer has been sharing insights into the rapper’s time behind bars.

Diddy, real name Sean Combs, was arrested at the Park Hyatt hotel in Manhattan last month and charged with racketeering and sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion – allegations he has denied.

The 54-year-old has had his bail denied twice and could remain in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center until next year as the judge set his trial for May 5, 2025.

Outside the courthouse on October 10, Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, opened up about the ‘roughest part’ of the situation for the music producer right now.Diddy's trial is set for May in 2025 (Shareif Ziyadat/Getty Images for Sean

He told reporters: “I think the food’s probably the roughest part of it.”

The New York Post previously reported that Comb’s first meal was behind bars was a choice of Swedish meatballs or a black bean burger, per MDC Brooklyn’s food menu. It’s said he also had the option of egg noodles, green beans and a garden salad with dressing as side dishes.

Following his arrest there has also been questions about Diddy’s mental state and rumors that the star was put on a suicide watchlist.

Agnifilo has since been interviewed in The Downfall of Diddy: The Indictment, a new TMZ documentary that touches on recent events involving the hip hop mogul.

During one clip, the lawyer spoke about Diddy’s state of mind, amid recent speculation.

He said: “His state of mind is actually remarkable positive. I spend several hours with him every day… His resolve is strong. He’s engaged.

“He’s focused on his defence… he [has] come to terms with the fact that this is where he is for now.”Wendy Williams says 'it's about time' as she speaks out over Diddy allegations

Earlier this week Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, released a statement through attorney Natlie G. Figgers.

Obtained by The Hollywood Reporter on October 6, she said: “My son is not the monster they have painted him to be, and he deserves the chance to tell his side.

“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies.

“To bear witness [to] what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words. Like every human being, my son deserves to have his day in court, to finally share his side, and to prove his innocence.”

Wendy Williams has broken her silence amid the Diddy allegations in a new interview.

Last week, more than 100 people came forward to accuse Diddy of sexual assault, filing lawsuits against him.

Some cases are said to date back as far as 1991, with one of the accusers claiming to have been nine years old when the alleged incident occurred.

Diddy – real name Sean Combs – was already arrested over sex trafficking, drug possession and firearms offences in September, with an indictment claiming he encouraged female victims into sexual performances with male sex workers which were dubbed ‘freak offs’.

The star is currently awaiting trial at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City.

Diddy ’emphatically and categorically’ denies all charges, his attorney Erica Wolff told UNILAD.

Williams has been outspoken in her criticisms of Combs over the years.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, The Wendy Williams Show host has now revealed ‘so many people’ told her she’d ‘called it’ after the rapper was arrested.

She also addressed the 2016 video of Diddy assaulting his then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel lobby.

CCTV camera footage of the incident was released by CNN this May.

The video, dated as being from 5 March, 2016, shows Ventura and Combs at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles – which has since closed down.

The footage shows Ventura walking to some elevators and Combs running after her wearing only a towel wrapped round his waist.

The rapper can be seen grabbing Ventura by the neck and throwing her to the floor, before kicking her twice and dragging her by her sweatshirt towards one of the hotel’s rooms.

Combs then walks away, Ventura collecting her belongings up. However, the musician comes back and he can be seen throwing an object at Ventura before walking away again.

Williams said: “You know how I feel about that? It is about time. To see this video on TV of [Cassie] getting pummelled… it was just horrific.”

She continued: “But now you have to think, how many more times? How many people? How many more women? It’s just so horrible.”

Ventura filed a lawsuit in Federal District Court in Manhattan last year alleging Combs ‘frequently beat’ her during their on-off around 10-year relationship.

Ventura’s lawsuit claimed Combs was a ‘serial domestic abuser, who would regularly beat and kick Ms Ventura, leaving black eyes, bruises, and blood’.

Combs ‘vehemently denie[d]’ the allegations, his lawyer telling UNILAD at the time.

A day later, on November 17, Combs and Ventura announced they’d reached a settlement. The hotel lobby video surfaced some six months later.
